Send us an enquiry with your dates, group size and preferred accommodation level. We price every trip against those specifics rather than working from a fixed rate sheet, because park fees, occupancy and camp availability all move the number.

Because we do not have a contracted rate loaded for that tier yet. We would rather tell you that than publish an estimate you would then have to unlearn. Every On Request package is quoted within the same working day in most cases.

For July to October in the Maasai Mara or the Serengeti, as far ahead as you can — the good camps fill months out. For other months, a few weeks is usually enough. Family rooms and interconnecting tents book earlier than anything else.

The form on this site starts an enquiry. There is no payment or checkout here. We reply with a quotation and an itinerary, and nothing is confirmed until you have accepted it.

Yes. The routes on this site are the shapes we run most often, not a fixed menu. Tell us what you want to see and how long you have, and we will build something around it.

Road safaris use a 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser. Private departures have their own vehicle; group departures share the vehicle with fellow travellers.

Yes. All meals while on safari are included — breakfast, lunch and dinner — as set out in each itinerary. Drinks are not included.

Yes. All park and reserve entrance fees for the parks in your itinerary are included in the quoted price.

International flights, visas and entry fees, travel insurance, single-occupancy supplements, drinks, tips, and optional activities such as balloon safaris and village visits. Each package page lists its own exclusions in full.

In most Kenyan and Tanzanian national parks, no — walking is restricted. There are exceptions: Hell's Gate, Crescent Island on Lake Naivasha, and Observation Hill in Amboseli. Some private conservancies permit guided walks, and we will tell you which on your route.

Mobile coverage is good in most towns and patchy inside the parks. Most camps and lodges have wifi in public areas, and some have it in rooms. We would not plan on working from a tented camp.

Most nationalities need an electronic travel authorisation for Kenya and a visa for Tanzania. Both are applied for before travel or, for Tanzania, at the border on cross-border routes. Requirements change, so check your own government's current guidance as well as the destination's.

This is a question for a travel clinic rather than a tour operator. Yellow fever certification is required in some circumstances depending on your route and where you have travelled from. Ask a qualified travel health provider well before you go.

Safari areas in Kenya and Tanzania are well established and well travelled. Normal city precautions apply in Nairobi and Arusha. Check your own government's current travel advice for the regions on your route before booking.

US dollars are widely accepted for park fees, tips and extras — bring notes issued in 2009 or later, as older notes are often refused. Kenyan and Tanzanian shillings are useful for small purchases. Card payment works in cities and at most lodges.

Tipping is customary and not included in your safari price. Your guide and the camp staff are the two groups usually tipped separately. We will give you current guideline amounts with your final documents rather than publishing a figure that dates.

Yes, with notice. Vegetarian, vegan, halal and allergy requirements can be handled at almost every property we use, but camps need to know before you arrive rather than on the night.
