What it means

Season-aware routes built around the herds' movement through the Serengeti and the Maasai Mara.

Roughly 1.3 million wildebeest and several hundred thousand zebra move through the Serengeti–Mara ecosystem on a loop driven by rainfall. It is not a single event; it is a year-round pattern with different highlights in different months.

Calving happens on the southern Serengeti plains around February, with very heavy predator activity. The herds move north through the middle of the year, with Grumeti crossings possible around June and July. The Mara river crossings people picture are usually between July and October.

No operator can guarantee a crossing on a given date, and we will not pretend otherwise. What we can do is put you in the right part of the ecosystem for your month.
