Safari style 10
Short Safaris
Two to three days, for travellers who do not have a week.
What it means
Compressed routes for travellers with limited time, built so the days that remain still count.
Short safaris get a bad name, and sometimes they deserve it. A two-day trip is mostly driving. But if that is what you have, it is still far better than not going.
The trick is to pick one destination and commit to it rather than trying to see three. The Maasai Mara from Nairobi, or the Serengeti and the crater from Arusha, are both doable in three days.
If you have a spare day, spend it on a second night in the same place rather than a third destination. It makes more difference than anything else.
Is this you?
This style suits you if…
- You have two or three days, not a week
- You are adding a safari to a business trip or a longer journey
- You would rather see one place properly than three briefly
- You are happy with an early start and a long drive
