The journey at a glance.
Two days is a compressed trip, and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What it does give you is one afternoon and one morning in the Maasai Mara, either side of a night in the reserve — enough to understand why people come back for longer.
The drive from Nairobi takes most of the first morning, with a stop at the Rift Valley escarpment viewpoint and again at Narok. You reach camp for lunch and go out on the first game drive the same afternoon.
If you have a spare day, the three-day version of this route is a meaningfully better trip. If you do not, this one still works.

Day 1Nairobi → Maasai Mara
Down into the Rift and across to the Mara.
You are collected from your Nairobi hotel in the morning and head west. The road drops over the Rift Valley escarpment, where there is a viewpoint stop, then runs through Narok before the last stretch to the reserve. You check in for lunch and go out on an afternoon game drive.

Day 2Maasai Mara → Nairobi
A morning drive, then the road back.
An early game drive while the light is still low and the plains are at their most active, then breakfast at camp. You leave the reserve mid-morning and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon for a hotel or airport drop-off.

Is two days long enough for the Maasai Mara?
It is enough for two game drives and one night, which is genuinely worthwhile. It is not enough to cover different parts of the reserve or to allow for a slow wildlife day. If your dates flex, take the three-day version.
Is the price per person?
Yes. Published rates are per person sharing a twin or double room. Solo travellers pay a single-occupancy supplement, which we quote with the rest of the trip.
What does the final price depend on?
Travel dates, the number of people travelling, your accommodation tier, park fees at the time of travel and vehicle arrangements. We reprice every enquiry for the exact dates rather than working from a fixed sheet.
Can the itinerary be changed?
Yes. The route below is the standard shape of the trip. Nights can be added or moved, and destinations can be swapped, as long as the driving distances still work.
Are park fees included?
Yes. All park and reserve entrance fees for the parks in the itinerary are included in the quoted price.
What vehicle will we use?
Road safaris use a 4×4 Safari Land Cruiser. Private departures have their own vehicle; group departures share the vehicle with fellow travellers.
Can children join this safari?
Yes. Tell us your children's ages when you enquire and we will confirm which properties on the route suit them and whether child rates apply.
